The best way to care for your rope tack is with gentle handwashing. You can put your rope tack in a bucket with some mild detergent, hand agitate, rinse well, and let air dry. You can also put your rope tack in the washing machine on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. I advise putting each individual piece in its own pillow case and removing any hardware. Putting hardware in your washing machine may cause damage to the hardware or washing machine. When washing your halters, be sure to have it tightly packed in a pillow case or use gentle hand agitation as strong agitation may cause the fiador knot to loosen. (You can always place a zip tie around the base of the loops by the fiador to help prevent this if you are worried about it).
If you have leather on your tack (poppers, waterloops, etc) that is not removable, be sure not to soak it too long and you can apply some leather conditioner after it dries.
